S7: Transparent ceramics and luminescent materials

Transparent ceramics have a wide range of practical and emerging applications in the fields of high discharge lighting; windows for UV to IR detection, and for visible protection. Luminescent materials in the form of powders or bulk are widely used in solid-state lasers, scintillators, solid-state lighting, emissive displays,sensing and bioimaging. The aim of this symposium is to provide a platform to exchange research ideas about the state-of-the-art of the preparation, microstructure, properties and applications of transparent ceramics and luminescent materials.

Following topics will be included but not limited in this symposium:
1.Fabrication technologies for powders and transparent ceramics
2.Spectroscopic properties of luminescent materials
3.Transparent ceramics for lasers, X-CT, Magnet-Opt and Electro-Opt and fluorescent applications
4.Transparent ceramics for window, dome, and armor applications
5.Phosphors for solid-state lighting
6.Up-conversion phosphors and their applications

8.Near-infrared phosphors and their applications
