Research and development in the field of novel ceramic coatings systems is a key to current and future technologies. This symposium focuses on the latest advances in ceramic - coating technologies, which can give surfaces new or markedly improved functions onto materials surfaces in terms of physical, mechanical, thermal, chemical, optical, electrical, electronic, magnetic properties, extending the important and emerging applications in the fields of gas turbine, aerospace, reusable spacecraft or hypersonic vehicles, defense protection, ships, automobiles, electronic devices, mechanical parts, renewable energy, etc. Simultaneously, new ceramic - coating, surface nanoengineering, innovative processing technologies, advanced characterization methods, multi - scale modeling and experimental validations are particularly emphasized. This symposium will identify current key issues, effective approaches, and future outlook for ceramic - coating technologies and applications through comprehensive discussion on the following proposed topics.

Focused topics:
1.Thermal/environmental barrier coatings for CMC, intermetallics, and superalloys
2.Ceramic coatings for protection against high - temperature, oxidation, CMAS, corrosion, diffusion, wear, erosion, fretting, tribological loadings, flame
3.Processing of ceramic - derived coatings (Thermal spray, cold spray, polymer - derived/suspension/solution precursor spray, aerosol deposition, sintering, halide activated pack cementation (HAPC), PVD, CVD, etc.)
4.Wet chemical and electrochemical processes of ceramic coatings (Sol - gel coating, anodization, microarc oxidation (MAO or PEO), chemical conversion coating, etc.)
5.Ceramic coatings for new functional applications - multi - functional, composite/hybrid, graded, nanostructured and multilayers coatings
6.Interface phenomena, adhesion, and other fundamentals of ceramic coatings
7.Technical issues and potential solutions of surface - related properties and processes in industries
8.Next generation production methods for ceramic coatings
9.Multi - scale modeling of ceramic coating properties and life predictions
10.Ceramic coatings database and artificial intelligence - based approach
11.Advanced destructive and non - destructive evaluation methodologies for ceramic coatings
